Matchmaking Rating, or MMR is a value that determines the skill level of each player. This value is used in matchmaking. Winning increases a player’s MMR, while losing decreases it.

In Dota2, there are 2 types of Matchmaking, either Ranked Match Making or Normal Match Game. In Ranked each player needs to have a Badge of level 25 inorder to play, in this type of matchmaking , players are going to play against players with the same rank. While in a normal game you can play with other players with different ranks.

As I’ve seen on my facebook newsfeed, I tend to read posts about ” MMR = Meet More Retards” Yes I’ve experienced this. I love playing in a Ranked game because each time I win, my rank goes up but if you lose you also lose a rank rating.

Having a high ranked rating is really good because you can meet really good players. BUT as I’ve noticed the higher my ranked rating is getting the more cancer players I meet. Mostly of the high MMR players are so rude, that if they are the highest mmr in the game, they tend to be very rude and they trash talk you alot and even call you scrubs. There are also players with high ranked but play really bad.

Account buyers, they are the main reason why some people call MMR as Meet More Retards because alot of players nowadays are buying accounts with very high MMR that’s why when they play MMR with the accounts that they’ve bought the difference of their skills from the players of that ranked are really high so they are really bullied. They also abandon some games and just wants to throw because they don’t really care about the MMR that they have because they didn’t do the hard work to make the Rating high.
